The Finnish broadcaster YLE has revealed the finalists of this year’s Uuden musiikin kilpailu (UMK). The competing songs will be released one at a time during the next week. The finalists of UMK 2023 are the following:
- Keira – No Business on the Dancefloor (song out 12.1.)
- Benjamin – Hoida mut (song out 13.1.)
- Robin Packalen – Girls Like You (song out 16.1.)
- Lxandra – Something to Lose (song out 17.1.)
- Käärijä – Cha Cha Cha (song out 18.1.)
- KUUMAA – Ylivoimainen (song out 19.1.)
- Portion Boys – Samaa taivasta katsotaan (song out 20.1.)

During the last couple of years, UMK has been a big success. Many of the competing songs have become hit songs in Finland and UMK has boosted the careers of the competing artists. The biggest success of last year’s UMK was BESS and her song Ram pam pam, which was the biggest hit song in Finland last year:
