Karmento: “If you have your eyes open, anything can be an inspiration”

At the end of December, Joe B got the chance to talk to Manchega folk singer Karmento, who will be performing in the second semi-final of Benidorm Fest 2023 with the song Quiero y duelo (Longing and Grief).

Karmento spoke to us about her Manchega heritage, why she left everything to travel to Malta and start a musical career, why sitting on the bus can inspire her to write, and why having folklore music at Benidorm Fest is so important, as well as her song and Eurovision itself.

Thank you so much to Karmento, and to her manager Gloria, for organising the interview. ESCBubble wishes you the best of luck in the contest!
