Hello and welcome to our coverage of Norway’s first of three Semi Finals of Melodi Grand Prix! Tonight’s show will feature seven songs, three of which will qualify directly to the Grand Final on 4th February.
The MGP format has changed from last year. Gone are the duels and last chance rounds, and now the three entries with the most votes from the public will move on to the Final. There, another change will happen, as an international jury will determine 50% of the say.
The show is hosted by Arian Engebø and Stian Thorbjørnsen (this is the first MGP since 2014 without Kåre Magnus Bergh as a host) live from NRK’s Screen Studios in Nydalen in northern Oslo.
