Unser Lied für Liverpool: How to vote for the TikTok wildcard winner

The official participants of the German national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Unser Lied für Liverpool, were announced this morning. Eight of them are direct finalists, which we presented you here. However, one more act will join the final line-up through an online voting over TikTok.

The voting opened today at 13:00 CET and will close on the 3rd of February at 20:00 CET. TikTok allows one vote per day, but only German accounts will be able to vote. You can vote for your favorite through this link!

On February 4th, the wildcard winner will be announced in the new show “Alles Eurovision” on eurovision.de, starting at 18:00 CET.

These six songs are in the running for the TikTok wildcard:

Betül – “Heaven

Betül is a German singer with Turkish roots who makes music in both German and Turkish. With her first song in English, she would like to represent Germany in Liverpool and is currently fighting for the wildcard:

From Fall To Spring – “Draw The Line”

New-Metal band From Fall To Spring have already gained a huge following within the German metal scene for their first two EPs “A Better Tomorrow” and “Disconnected”. The six boys from Saarbrücken currently under contract with Arising Empire, one of Germany’s biggest record labels.

Ikke Hüftgold – “Lied mit gutem Text”

Known for performing and writing party hits, Ikke Hüftgold wants to compete in the German national final with “Lied mit gutem Text” (“Song with good lyrics”). In his second home Mallorca, he is known as Bierkönig (Beer King) and he also produced Germany’s biggest summer hit of 2022, “Layla”, which stayed at number 1 in the German charts for nine weeks.

JONA – “10/10

Jona Selle has gained popularity through his YouTube channel, where he uploaded music covers and gained a following of over 300,000 people. These days, Jona is working as a songwriter for the biggest names in the German music industry and now wants to compete in Eurovision with his self-written song “10/10” about the woman of his dreams:

Leslie Clio – “Free Again”

Another well known name is singer-songwriter Leslie Clio, who had her breakthrough in 2013 with the album “Gladys” and especially the song “I Couldn’t Care Less”. Leslie is also not completely new to the Eurovision fandom, as she was part of the German jury for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 and also appeared on ARD’s Eurovision Songcheck.

Mitchy & André Katawazi und NashUp – “Summertime”

The brothers Mitchy & André Katawazi participated in The Voice Of Germany in 2015 where they reached the top 10 and continued a solid musical career with more than 20 million streams on Spotify. For “Summertime” they are joined by NashUp, who writes songs for stars like Meghan Trainor or Britney Spears.
