Victor Vernicos to represent Greece in Eurovision 2023!

Moments ago in the evening news programme of the Greek national broadcaster ERT, the name of the Greek entrant in Eurovision 2023 has been revealed, and it’s Victor Vernicos!

The 16 year old artist is the youngest singer Greece has ever sent to the Contest. His entry for Liverpool is titled “What They Say” and it will be released in the coming days.

This is the first time since 2009 that Greece is sending a male solo artist to the Contest. Sakis Rouvas was selected internally back in 2009 for a second time to represent Greece, and he finished in 7th place in the Grand Final with the song “This Is Our Night”. Last year Amanda Georgiadi Tenfjord was selected to represent Greece, and her song “Die Together” finished in 8th place in the Grand Final.

I watched Eurovision in 1998 for the first time (by accident), and wondered what this show was where this girl with a cape sang in Croatian on Hungarian television. It's needless to say that I watch this show ever since. 2008 in Belgrade was the first Eurovision I've ever been to, and since then I've been to most of them.
My favourite Eurovision winner is "Everyway That I Can", and one of my all time favorite Eurovision songs is "Igranka".
