This year, the “big” (established) artists will not get a special pass to the final, like how Achille Lauro qualified directly to last year’s final. Broadcaster SMRTV conducted some interviews in the run-up to the start of Una voce per San Marino 2023, and returning artist Francesco Monte has this to say:
“I don’t have so many expectations, I came to live the experience like last year. […] I am super elated to launch this new song which represents a new musical project, in which I have collaborated with other artists.”
Domenica Paganelli has sat on the jury since the start of the selection process in San Marino, and thinks we’re in for a good show:
“Talent is not lacking in the boys who have come this far: it is difficult for the jurors to make a choice. “Each one had something unique and all musical genres were represented. […] I found prepared people and therefore I am very satisfied.”
While another juror, Lia Florio, explained just what this selection show means for an artist:
“It’s a great opportunity, in Liverpool it will be crazy. Let’s not forget that the Eurovision Song Contest has achieved 200 million viewers in a year – it’s breathtaking for these guys.”
