Finland Has Chosen – It’s Käärijä for Liverpool

The final of Finland’s ‘Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu’ (UMK) concluded just a few moments ago and we now know who will represent Finland at Eurovision 2023 in Liverpool.

A total of seven songs competed for the right to do just that, and the result was determined by a combination of international jury (25%) and public voting (75%).

The international jury were first to reveal their scores, and after their votes were counted Käärijä was in a clear first place.  And the public were equally emphatic in their choice giving Käärijä an incredible 467 points, eclipsing the public second place, Portion Boys who received 124, despite being seventh with the jury.
