Iru Khechanovi wins The Voice – will represent Georgia in Liverpool

The final of The Voice Georgia has ended on GPB. Back in August, we reveleaed that Georgia would use the upcoming season of The Voice to choose its 2023 Eurovision representative. The show was down to its last eight acts who battled it out for the chance to wave the Georgian flag in Liverpool this May:

  • Kakha Aslamazashvili
  • Giorgi Datiashvili
  • Tina Datikashvili
  • Tako Kakalashvili
  • Iru Khechanovi
  • Lika Siradze
  • Anka Tatarashvili
  • Likuna Tutisani

In the end it was Iru Khechanovi who won The Voice, finishing with 21.88% of the total vote. If her name sounds familiar, it’s because she was part of the group Candy who represented Georgia at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2011.

Iru Khechanovi becomes Georgia’s 15th Eurovision arist. The country hasn’t qualified for the Grand Final since 2016’s Midnight Gold. In Turin, indie rock-band Circus Mircus finished 18th and dead last in the second semi-final with Lock Me In.
