Mimicat: “If I get the chance to go to Eurovision, I will probably cry my eyes out.”

A few weeks ago, our very own Joe B got to chat to Portugal’s Marisa Isabel Lopes Mena, aka Mimicat, who will be competing in the first semi-final of Festival da Canção 2023 this Saturday, with the much-loved toe-tapping theatre track “Ai Coração” (Oh, My Love).

As well as the song, she mentioned how a previous Eurovision song prompted her to start her recording career at just nine years of age, why she’s not content with just one musical genre, and her admiration for the critics.
