The Netherlands’ song release is set for 1st March

The Dutch Eurovision 2023 artists Mia Nicolai (26) and Dion Cooper (29) will announce their entry for the Eurovision Song Contest next Wednesday, 1st March!

The Netherlands’ Broadcaster AVROTROS provided this update today, after being fairly quiet since the artist announcement way back in November. Mia and Dion told Het ParoolΒ  on Tuesday that the song is an ode to ‘falling down and getting back up’:

“It’s about recognizing that we’re just human beings who try their best and that it’s okay to make mistakes. It’s about picking up again, choosing something better and moving on.”

At the same time, the Dutch duo denied rumors that the song would be called ‘Chasing Higs’. Mia and Dion wrote the song together with Eurovision 2019 winner Duncan Laurence and his partner Jordan Garfield.

The Netherlands will compete in the second half of the 1st Semi-Final on 9th May, hoping to qualify to the Grand Final for a sixth consecutive time!
