These are the first two finalists of Söngvakeppnin 2023

The first semi-final of Icelandic selection for Eurovision Song Contest 2023, Söngvakeppnin finished moments ago and we’ve got the first finalists of the show. The show was hosted by Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, Unnsteinn Manuel Stefánsson, and Sigurður Þorri Gunnarsson

Tonight we saw five acts performing in the following order:

  1. Bendeikt – Þora
  2. Diljá – Lifandi Inni Í Mér
  3. Celebs – Dómsdagsdans
  4. BRAGI – Stundum Snýst Heimurinn Gegn Bér
  5. MÓA – Glötuð ást

The two acts which advanced to the final are

Diljá – Lifandi Inni Í Mér

BRAGI – Stundum Snýst Heimurinn Gegn Bér

The remaining three acts still have a chance to be picked for the final as one of the six non finalist will get a Wild Card for the show. You can check our interviews with Celebs and MÓA . The second semi-final takes place next Saturday 25th of February and the following five acts will be competing for the two spots in the final:

  1. Kristín Sesselja – “Óbyggðir”
  2. Langi Seli og Skuggarnir – “OK”
  3. Silja Rós & Kjalar – “Ég styð þína braut”
  4. Úlfar – “Betri Maður
  5. Sigga Ózk – “Gleyma þér og dansa

Grand final will take place on 4th of March. Don’t forget to vote for your favourites of second semi-final below
