Listen to Georgian Eurovision entry “Echo”

On 2nd of February, Iru Khechanovi was selected to represent Georgia at Eurovision 2023 after she emerged as the winner of The Voice Georgia – season 5.

Eurovision followers and fans know Iru as the winner of Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2011 which took place in   Yerevan, Armenia. She was a member of Candy whose “Candy Music” received 108 points (5 more than the second placed Dutch entry and therefore snatched the second Georgian victory in the contest). Iru is a Georgian singer and songwriter of Armenian descent. She was born on 3rd of December 2000 in Tbilisi. Last December she performed at Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2022 as a part of a special 20th anniversary winners medley in addition to that she co-wrote the third placed Georgian entry “I Believe” by Mariam Bigvava. At Eurovision 2023 Iru will be performing a song “Echo” which was created in a collaboration with Giga Kukhiadnidze who has been the author of many Georgian Junior Eurovision entries including all of their three winning songs.

Iru will be performing in the second half of the second semi final which is set to take place on Thursday 11th of May. She will try to take Georgia to the final first time since 2016. You can check out the music video of “Echo” below
