Lorraine Kelly on The UK: We’re not gonna mind if Ukraine win.

UK TV Presenter Lorraine Kelly has spoken to this year’s UK representative Mae Muller on her UK Morning show Lorraine.

Speaking about this year’s contest, Lorraine said to Mae:

“We’re not gonna mind if Ukraine win. I’ve not heard the song yet. It’s their year. This is all about Ukraine. They’ve got Ukraine hosts, along with our guys and that’ll be alright Mae. You don’t mind losing out to those. We’ll be happy with 2nd, but we’d like to win.”

Mae responded saying:

“I’d love to win. I’m gonna try my best, but I think for me I’m gonna feel like if I’ve smashed it, I’ll be happy and I wanna do well, but if I get there and have a great time and I cant wait to watch the other artists aswell.”

Speaking about her Mae was approached for Eurovision, Mae said:

“It came about just over 2 months ago. My manager called me, we met up and I didn’t know what he was going to say… He said how do you feel about Eurovision… I have to have an answer now either you’re 100% in or you’re not and I was like I’m in.”

Mae also spoke about how she has heard from last year’s UK representative Sam Ryder, and how he had offered some words of support.

In other news, it’s also been revealed that Mae’s song for this year’s contest ‘I wrote a song’ has debuted at Number 30 in the UK charts, the first act to do so in over ten years.
