Victor Vernicos releases "What They Say" for Greece

At the end of Janurary 2023, it was revealed that the only 16 year old singer Victor Verrnicos would become the Greek representative of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in Liverpool. He was chosen out of more than 3,000 applicants and could eventually beat six other shortlisted acts. Victor Vernicos Jorgensen is the youngest act that Greece has ever sent to the Eurovision Song Contest and is also going to be the first male solo artist representing the country since 2009.

Victor  also has Danish roots and it will therefore be the second time in a row, that the Greek broadcaster ERT has selected a young solo singer with Scandinavian heritage. Last year, Greek-Norwegian singer Amanda Tenfjord was chosen to represent the country with “Die Together” and finished in 8th place, which marks the country’s best result in nine years.
