Anggun to be part of France’s Eurovision 2023 commentary team

Yesterday, Sweden announced a former Eurovision artist will work as its commentator for Eurovision in Liverpool. Today, French broadcaster France Télévisions has done the same!

FT has just revealed its commentary team for the 67th Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool next month.

The Semi Finals will feature André Manoukian. He has performed this role twice before, in 2018 and 2019. He’ll be joined by former French representative at Eurovision 2012 Anggun. This will be her first time commentating Eurovision since she sang “Echo (You & I)” in Baku eleven years ago!

Then for the Grand Final on 13th May, Stéphane Bern and Laurence Boccolini take over commentating duties. Liverpool will mark the third Contest in a row featuring Bern and Boccolini in the commentator’s box for France. Meanwhile it will be the eighth Contest for Bern, who started this role in 2015, but has had various co-commentators over the years, including Eurovision artists Amir and Alma.

Anggun finished in 22nd place with 21 points in Baku back in 2012. This year, France will be represented by La Zarra and her disco hit “Évidemment”. Can La Zarra do better than her predecessor? Let us know in the comments below!
