Ruth Lorenzo is Spain’s new Eurovision spokesperson

Ruth Lorenzo will be back at Eurovision after a nine-year absence, but she won’t be singing on stage next month.

According to El Plural, Spain’s Eurovision broadcaster RTVE has chosen Ruth to deliver the Spanish jury’s 12 points during the exciting voting sequence at the end of the Grand Final on 13th May!

Most Eurofans will remember Ruth for her Eurovision 2014 appearance when she sang Dancing In The Rain and for her 10th place finish for Spain. This tied for Spain’s best result since 2004, and remained so until Chanel’s SloMo came in 3rd place in Turin last year.

Ruth will of course replace Nieves Álvarez as Spain’s spokesperson, who had been in charge of sharing the Spanish jury votes since 2017.

In Liverpool, Spain will be represented by Blanca Paloma who will perform the flamencoesque EaEa!
