Popular Finnish artist and UMK22 fan favorite BESS will share the votes of the Finnish jury in Eurovision 2023. The news were shared earlier today on UMK’s social media channels:

Essi Launimo, better know as BESS, first came to the knowledge of the Finnish public in 2017, when her song ”Tempo” became popular. In 2022 she participated in UMK with her song ”Ram pam pam”, finishing 3rd. ”Ram pam pam” became a huge hit song in Finland, it got a huge amount of playing time on the Finnish radio stations and it was the most popular song of the Finnish Spotify in 2022. In autumn 2022 BESS also released an English version of ”Ram pam pam”.
In February 2023 BESS and ”Ram pam pam” won four awards in the Finnish music awards gala Emma-gaala. BESS was awarded as the artist of the year, and ”Ram pam pam” as the song of the year, best pop song of the year and the most streamed domestic song.
