Semi Final announcement of the qualifiers to remain as it was in the past years!

The first dress rehearsal of the first semi final has finished a couple of hours ago, where the 15 competing acts rehearsed their entry once again. However, this wasn’t a rehearsal just for them but also for the hosts, the technical team, and all the crew working on this show. The EBU announced a new way of announcing the qualifiers by having all acts on stage for the reveal, and quick interviews with Alesha Dixon after the first five, and the second five qualifiers were announced.

Only a couple of hours after the rehearsal has finished, the EBU released a statement that they are switching back to the ‘good old way’:

After trying a new system of presenting the qualifying countries in Dress Rehearsal 1 of the First Semi-Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 it was decided by the production team to revert back to the previous reveal sequence used in recent years with artists learning whether they will progress to the Grand Final together with their delegations in the Green Room. Whilst this change will not now be implemented this year there are other innovations in the show for viewers to look forward to.

The second rehearsal, previously known as the ‘Jury Rehearsal’ is going to start in just over an hour and a half. Stay tuned to ESCBubble for all the latest information on Eurovision 2023, live from Liverpool!
