UK Spokesperson announced

UK Newspaper The Sun has announced Catherine Tate as this year’s UK spokesperson. The actress and comedian will announce the United Kingdom’s 12 points at this year’s Grand Final on Saturday, 13th May, and she will do that live from inside the Liverpool Arena, where this year’s Contest is being held.

Speaking to the BBC, Catherine Tate said:

It’s very exciting to be announcing the iconic ‘douze points’ at Eurovision

She jokingly added:

It’s just a foot in the door really as next year I hope to be the UK entrant!

Catherine Tate has starred in a number of TV shows including “Doctor Who”, “The Office”, as well as her own comedy show “The Catherine Tate Show. She also won multiple awards throughout her career, including the SFX award for the Best Actress, People’s Choice Award at the British Comedy Awards, multiple comedy awards, Leading and Supporting Actress in a Play, and she has been nominated for an Emmy as Best Actress, and twice in EBU’s “Rose d’Or” awards for Best Comedy Actress. Previous UK announcers have included Amanda Holden, AJ Odudu and Rylan Clark.
