After today’s press conference, more details have been revealed about the third edition of Spain’s successful national selection, Benidorm Fest.
The contest will again consist of two semi finals and a grand final which can be viewed on La 1 and RTVE Play. These will be shown on the following dates:
- Semi Final 1 – 30th January 2024
- Semi Final 2 – 1st February 2024
- Grand Final – 3rd February 2024
Artists and songwriters from around the world will have the chance to put their brains together and try to come up with a winning Eurovision song at the Benidorm Fest songwriting camp, taking place throughout September. Artists have until October 10th to submit their entries. Additionally, RTVE will invite well known acts to compete.
The names of all sixteen chosen artists will be announced on 11th November 2023. Six back up acts will also be chosen.
Benidorm Fest has been widely praised for its high quality of songs, through which many fan favourites have emerged including Blanca Paloma. Despite coming last with the televote and only achieving a 17th place overall finish, she was considered a front runner for the 2023 Eurovision trophy and the divisive nature of her performance is still admired by many.
