Mae Muller releases new single ‘Me, Myself and I’

Ahead of her highly-anticipated debut album, Mae Muller has released a new single – ‘Me, Myself and I’.

With an uptempo bassline and tropical house elements, the catchy song is made for summer weather. In a clever inversion of Lou Bega’s iconic hit ‘Mambo No. 5’, Mae lists the names of her lovers, insisting that she is better off without them. With lyrics like ‘too busy to be a wife’ and ‘the love of my own life’, the track fits in well with what has come to be known as her artistic signature: a self-aware, tongue-in-cheek message of female empowerment and independence.

Despite a disappointing 25th place finish in May’s grand final, the Brit-pop songstress is making waves in the UK charts. In the week after the contest, her 2023 entry ‘I Wrote A Song’ entered at #9, and has since accumulated an impressive 17 million streams on spotify. Due to be released in September, her album ‘Sorry I’m Late’ hopes to face similar commercial success.
