‘Arcade’ reaches one billion plays on Spotify!

Recently, we’ve seen the Eurovision Song Contest have an enormous reach. Winners and other contestants becoming popular abroad and their (Eurovision) songs featuring in charts all around the world, breaking records. Think of Rosa Linn, Måneskin and Loreen. But now another milestone can be added!

It’s Eurovision winner Duncan Laurence whose ‘Arcade’ passes the colossal threshold of 1 billion plays on Spotify!

Combining the different versions of his winning song he had already reached the one billion mark. Among those versions is his collaboration with American singer Fletcher, saw the song become a radio hit in the USA.
But the United States weren’t the only place were lots of people had the song playing in their heads, as ‘Arcade’ being featured in many a TikTok video in 2021, two years after Duncan’s win, saw it blow up worldwide and gave the song a second life!

‘Arcade’ is the first ever Eurovision entry to reach this magical number of 1 billion plays!

It all started when Duncan Laurence brought The Netherlands victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv:
