German national final to be held on February 16th in Berlin

Germany has just revealed the first details of its national final for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 in Malmö.

The national final will take place in form of a live show on Friday, February 16th 2024 in Berlin and will be broadcast on ARD and  eurovision.de. Furthermore, the name of the national final seems to be different this year. Instead of the expected “Unser Lied für Malmö”, next year’s national final is called “Eurovision Song Contest – Das deutsche Finale 2024”.

NDR is looking for artists to submit a song for Germany from now on, under eurovision.de.

It seems likely that Barbara Schöneberger will once again be the host of the show, as she appears in the social media post, inviting artists to apply.

In the last two years, both German entries have been selected through a national final and sadly reached last place. In 2022, Malik Harris received a total of 6 points, while this year, Lord Of The Lost finished 26th with 18 points.

Do you think a national final is the right choice for Germany? Will the new name make a difference in the selection process? Let us know your thoughts in the comments and on our social media profiles! @escbubble
