NDR receives 693 submissions for the German ticket to Malmö

After an extension, the submissions window closed in Germany on Sunday, 15th October. Eurovision.de is reporting that a whopping 693 entries were received for evaluation by broadcaster NDR. This makes Germany one of the countries with the most submissions received to date, behind Portugal, Spain, and Sweden.

Of the 693 total submissions:

  • 572 submitted their own songs
  • 495 songs came from solo artists
  • 127 bands made submissions
  • 121 applied exclusively as singers
  • 71 duos applied

The hard work begins now for NDR, as they begin evaluating all the submissions to prepare for the live show. The national final, Eurovision 2024: Das Deutsche Finale, is set to take place in Berlin on 16th February.

More details about the songs, the selected artists, and details about the national final format can be expected in the coming months.

In 2023, Lord of the Lost triumphed at the German national final with their banger Blood and Glitter, only to become Germany’s 9th last place in Eurovision history.
