Besa will perform her song in English in Eurovision 2024 in Malmö
In a series of Tweets on X, the Albanian entrant in Eurovision 2024 – Besa Kokëdhima confirmed that her song “Zemrën n’dorë” has gone through a revamp, as well as a language change, and it will be performed in Malmö in English!
In an interview to Eurovision Insider, Besa stated:
We developed the narrative, we do finally give a character some resolution as in to direction to go to, to escape this situation. I feel happy about the revamp, because I think it’s honestly much better than the Albanian version and that’s not because of the language. I do believe that when you make a revamp, even if you chose to do it in another language, my believe is that it should be rewritten, reformulated for that language. The cultural background, the way of viewing the relationships, the way of viewing the dynamics – it’s such a big part of reformulating music and songs. That why I wanted to put up together a team with producers from different countries to see how they view the song. For me it’s the best way of creating it.
On her own X account, Besa added:
I know it is way LESS risky to keep it in Albanian. I love Albanian too. But the song has GROWN, the revamp is bigger & I am proud of it. I want EVERYBODY who listens to the song to be able to understand & feel included. I am not afraid to fail as I know that i did MY BEST! ☺️
