Here are the interval acts of Eurovision 2024 Semi-Finals

The interval acts of Eurovision 2024 semifinals have been announced. Three former Eurovision winners will return to the Eurovision stage when Helena Paparizou, Charlotte Perrelli and Sertab Erener perform as interval act. The fourth artist performing as interval act of the semifinals is the Swedish Eurovision representative 2018 Benjamin Ingrosso.

According to eurovision.tv, Benjamin Ingrosso will perform in the first semifinal on May 7th, giving us ”a show-stopping medley featuring just some of the songs he’s recently performed across Europe as part of his ’Better Days Tour’”. After representing Sweden in Eurovision 2018 with his song ”Dance You Off”, Ingrosso has achieved three number 1 albums in his home country and won many Swedish Grammy Awards, including ”Artist of the Year” -award in 2022.

This is what Ingrosso told eurovision.tv about his return to Eurovision stage:

After I got to represent Sweden at Eurovision in 2018, it now feels great to be able to show the audience who I am today. It has been fantastic to meet all the fans on my tour in Europe during the spring and now I hope that the Eurovision audience will love this show as much as I do.

If the interval act of the first semifinal is going to be spectacular, the interval act of the second semifinal surely will be at least as fabulous. In the second semifinal the stage will be taken by not one, not two, but THREE Eurovision Queens and former ESC winners: Helena Paparizou (Greece 2001 and 2005), Sertab Erener (Turkey 2003) and Charlotte Perrelli (Sweden 1999 and 2008). This iconic trio will invite the audience in the Malmö Arena and at home to take part in the world’s biggest sing-along. According to eurovision.tv: ”Anyone who wants to can therefore be part of the Semi-Final interval performance remotely, via an interactive TV Wall. To participate, you can check the Eurovision Song Contest’s official social channels, where all the instructions will be given closer to the time.”

Swedish born Greek Helena Paparizou participated in Eurovision for the first time in 2001 as a part of the duo Antique bringing Greece the 3rd place. Four years later Paparizou represented Greece as a solo artist with her song ”My Number One”, bringing Greece its first – and so far the only – Eurovision victory. Paparizou also participated in the national selection of her other home country Sweden, when she took part in Melodifestivalen 2014 with her song ”Survivor”.

According to eurovision.tv, Paparizou is enthusiastic about her return to the Eurovision stage, almost 20 years after her victory:

I am more than happy to be back on the Eurovision stage after so many years. Malmö…here I come! Are you ready to sing along with me?

Sertab Erener started her music career already in the 1990’s and released her first album in 1992. At the beginning of her career she worked together with another Turkish star Sezen Aksu, and she has also performed together with José Carreras and Ricky Martin. Erener won Eurovision for Turkey in 2003 with her song ”Everyway That I Can”, and in 2004 year she released her first English language album ”No Boundaries”. Erener’s victory remains Turkey’s only Eurovision victory to date, since Turkey has last been seen on Eurovision stage in 2012.

Charlotte Perrelli brought Sweden the country’s 4th Eurovision victory in 1999 with ”Take Me to Your Heaven”. She represented her home country for the second time in 2008 with the song ”Hero”, finishing 18th in the Grand Final. Perrelli’s latest Melodifestivalen participation was in 2021 with the song ”Still Young”.
