Chloe DelaRosa to represent Spain on home soil
9-year-old Chloe DelaRosa has been selected to represent Spain at the upcoming Junior Eurovision Song Contest, which is set to take place for the first time on home soil. Following the selection procedure of previous years, RTVE chose the singer from an internal selection that received 290 applications.
Chloe comes from a family of artists, her father is a music producer and singer, while their brothers stand out for their acting skills. She started singing at the age of three but it wasn’t until the lockdown when she went viral covering songs by her favourite singers. This year, she reached the minimum age to participate at Junior Eurovision, so she decided to give it a try and not only was she among the 16 finalists, but also ended up winning the whole selection process with her humour, happiness, spontaneity and self-confidence.
As Chloe is ready to work hard, the Spanish broadcaster is already working on the song she will perform on November 16 in Madrid. “We want folkloric roots but modernised. Moreover, she can also dance, so it could be a good performance. This entry won’t remain indifferent”, said RTVE’s César Vallejo.
During the press conference with Chloe, the Spanish broadcaster also revealed that they’re working on preparations for the contest. The logo, stage as well as the artistic and show concept will be revealed in September.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is set to take place on Saturday November 16 at Madrid’s Caja Mágica.
