The Luxembourg Song Contest is back, and with a new look

Fresh off the Grand Duchy’s first Grand Final qualification, Luxembourg is set to participate in Basel next May, and will revive the Luxembourg Song Contest to find its artist!

The second LSC will take place on Saturday, 25th January 2025 at the Rockhal in Esch — the same venue that hosted the inaugural LSC in 2024. The show will be broadcast live and will feature finalists competing in front of a live audience, with the winner again being chosen by a combination of audience votes and an international jury.

Gone is the old logo that used the Eurovision heart to make the ‘M’ in ‘LuxeMbourg’. The second LSC has a whole new look, featuring an updated theme art and logo for the competition.

The submission window is open until Sunday, 6th October 2024. Artists can submit their songs via www.eurovision.lu. Then it’s the turn of an international jury of experts, as they will start work on choosing the artists who will take part in the auditions at the Luxembourg Song Contest.

Anyone submitting songs must meet the following criteria and adhere to the rules, set by RTL:

  • Be at least 16 years old on 1st January 2025
  • Have Luxembourg nationality, have lived in Luxembourg for three consecutive years, or be anchored in the Luxembourg cultural scene (If competing as a band or group, at least one member must meet the above conditions)
  • Be able to sing live on stage
  • Be available between November 2024 and May 2025
  • Songs must be original creations and may not be released before 1st September 2024
  • Each song may not exceed the limit of three minutes
  • Each candidate may submit up to five entries.

Advance ticket sales to be in the live audience at the LSC in the Rockhal will start around December. International fans arriving by train or plane will have an easy time getting to the Rockhal in Esch, as it’s just 30 minutes by car from the airport, and 50 mins on public transit from the main train station in Luxembourg City!

In Malmö, Luxembourg’s Tail got the Grand Duchy to its first Grand Final since 1993, finishing in 13th place with 103 points with ‘Fighter’.
