One of the most popular names in this list is Elvana Gjata. As one of Albania’s biggest stars in the music industry, she has recently collaborated with other Albanian heavyweights Dhurata Dora and Dardan among others. In 2020 she competed in Festivali i Këngës with her song ‘Me Tana.’ In one of the greatest national final upsets, she only placed second. Other notable names include last year’s winner Mal Retkoceri as well as returnees Erma Mici, Gjergj Kaçinari, Martina Serreqi and Kleansa Susaj among others.

Unlike the previous two years, the winner of the competition chosen by the professional juries will go to Eurovision. A separate televote to choose the Albanian representative for Eurovision will not be held this year.

Last year, Besa Kokëdhima represented Albania with the song ‘Titan.’ She finished in 15th place in the semi final with just 14 points.
