Composers for Festival da Canção 2025 have been revealed
Portuguese broadcaster, RTP has revealed 14 composers which will compete at Festival da Canção 2025.
RTP has announced that this years line-up of artists showcases both “established artists as well as the emerging ones who are paving their way into the Portuguese music industry” prior to that they have confirmed that they invited 14 composers directly to take part at Festival da Canção 2025 with their song while six artists were chosen among 633 submissions which were sent to them.
The 14 composers invited by RTP to compete at Festival da Canção are:
- A Cantadeira
- Beato
- Bluay
- Bombazine
- Emmy Curl
- EU.CLIDES
- Fernando Daniel
- Jéssica Pina
- Luca Argel
- Marco Rodrigues
- Margarida Campelo
- Os Napa
- Peculiar
- Tiago Sampaio
Six artists who selected for the contest through the open call are:
- Capital da Bulgária
- Diana Vilarinho
- Henka
- Inês Marques Lucas
- JOSH
- Xico Gaiato
RTP hasn’t given any additional information regarding the songs itself as well as their release date. The show will feature a total of 20 songs split into the two semi finals which are set to take place on 22nd of February and 1st of March. The grand final will be held on 8th of March. The winner will be waving the Portuguese flag at Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel.
Festival da Canção 2024 was won by iolanda with “Grito” and she managed to get 152 points and end the contest on 10th place. You can check out the performance below.
