Malta ESC 2025 line-up revealed

In a special broadcast for TVM, the Maltese broadcaster PBS revealed the 24 acts competing in the semi-finals of MESC, the Malta Eurovision Song Contest, as well as their song titles. Magic 91.7 radio hosts Daniel and Ylenia hosted the show that revealed who will be in the running for Malta’s ticket to Basel in May, as they perform across two semi-finals on Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th February 2025, hoping to be one of the 16 competing in the grand final on Saturday 8th February.

The broadcaster also played a 10-second snippet of each song during the broadcast, which you can listen to here:

The group JVF will have two members familiar to Eurofans: Fabrizio Faniello, who represented his country in 2001 and 2006, and Jessika Muscat, who paired with German rapper Jenifer Brening to represent San Marino in 2018. There’s also another former Eurovision competitor in Kurt Calleja, who represented Malta in 2012 with This Is The Night, reaching the final in Baku.

There are seven other acts who’ve competed at the Maltese national final before, including Raquela Dalli, who’s attempting to reach Eurovision for the 6th time this year. She joins Miriana Conte, Mark Anthony Bartolo, Stefan Galea, Haley Azzopardi, Nathan Psalia and Miguel Bonello in the returner camp.

Malta will be hoping to end a 4-year dry spell at Eurovision, having last qualified for the final back in 2021. The winner of MESC 2024, Sarah Bonnici, failed to capture the public’s imagination in Malmö, winding up 16th and last in semi-final 2 with the song Loop.
