It is time for the first of many reveals which await us ahead of the 14th edition of Finnish national selection Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu, the hosts of the show will be Sanni and Jasmin Beloued.

Sanni Mari Elina Kurkisuo, better known as Sanni, is a Finnish singer, songwriter and actress signed to Warner Music Finland. She released her first single “Prinsessoja ja astronautteja” back in 2013, two years later she managed to break a record for the Finnish most played radio song as her single “2080-luvulla” spent 11 weeks at number one on the Finnish charts.

Hosting is really different from singing and I think this experience will bring me new ideas for performing. I’m sure that this will strengthen me as a performer in general. For me, UMK means, in particular, celebrating new music and giving new music an opportunity to make it. UMK is a wonderful community event where people gather together, both in the arena and in homes. It’s great to be part of this.
Sanni for YLE about becoming a host of UMK 25

Sanni will be joined by Jasmin Beloued. Jasmin started her career back in 2017 on Yle Galaxi, a youth program on Yle. From 2020, she has been a presenter of Yle’s children’s news service on Yle Mix, since 2021, she has reported from the Finnish annual Independence Day reception.

“Being part of UMK has been my dream for a long time, and I have had the opportunity to collaborate with the UMK production team in my role as a journalist. That was how I made myself visible to the UMK team, and eventually I received a request for test shoots and got to join the team. This production is full of top professionals, so even though the role is very nerve-racking, I feel very confident. I am also a Eurovision fangirl, so it feels like a great privilege to be in this role and hit the stage in front of the audience in Tampere. We have a good vibe together, our energy merges and we are both performers and perfectionists in a good way. Also, I’ve been listening to Sanni’s music since day one, so this is a pretty special fan encounter for me!”
Jasmin for YLE about getting a chance to host UMK 25

Sanni and Jasmin will also be the ones to present the reveal of artists competing at UMK 2025. The reveal will take place on 8th of January live at Yle Studios in Helsinki. After all seven competing artists are revealed, the songs will be released at midnight every weekday from 9th to 17th of January. The final show will take place on 8th of February at the Nokia Arena in Tampere.

At Eurovision 2024 Finland was represented by Windows95man whose crazy performance of the song “No Rules!” managed to get a total of 38 points which was enough for 19th place, you can check it out below.
