Jury of Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland? – has been revealed

Last November ARD has received a total of 3281 applications for the German national selection for ESC 2025. Majority of applicants are solo artists and 1198 out of all applied with an original song. Out of them a total of 24 acts will be competing at Chefsache ESC 2025 – Wer singt für Deutschland?

Today the main members of the judging panel of the show have been announced. The ones to make the decisions will be: Stefan Raab, Yvonne Catterfeld and Elton they will be joined with other guest judges during different stages of the contest. Stefan Raab is a performer and three-time German Eurovision participant (as singer and/or songwriter). He has represented Germany at Eurovision Song Contest 2000 with “Wadde hadde dudda da?” Stefan was the composer of their entries in 1998 and 2004 as well as the co-host of ESC 2011 in Düsseldorf in addition to that Raab is the one behind German preselection shows 2010-2012. Yvonne Catterfeld is a German singer, actress and television personality. She was member of The Voice of Germany for five seasons of the show and during it she also mentored Ben Dolić (Germany Eurovision 2020). Catterfeld was on the judging panel of Unser Star für Oslo which was the German preselection show in 2010. Alexander Duszat known as Elton is a TV presenter and comedian who rose to fame thanks to the comedy show TV total. Prior to this Elton was involved with German selections in 2010 and 2018.

Out of 24 artists which will compete in two heats best seven will be qualifying from each to a semi-final which is set for 22nd of February out of those 14 acts the 9 finalists will be selected to compete in the grand final of the show which is scheduled for 1st of March. The winner will get a chance to wave the German flag in Basel. The decision about the winner in the final will be made solely through the public voting.

The show will be taking place on the following dates

  • Heat 1 –  14th of February
  • Heat 2 – 15th of February
  • Semi-Final –  22nd of February
  • Final – 1st of March

Tickets are already on sale HERE. Last year in Malmö, Germany managed to break the curse of being placed among the last acts competing in the final of Eurovision Song Contest as ISAAK managed to receive a total of 117 points which was enough for 12th place. You can check out the performance below
