EBU confirmed that ‘Kant’ cannot be used in Eurovision
The 2024 Malta Eurovision Song Contest took place less than a month ago, and Miriana Conte won the festival, and will thus be representing the Mediterranean island in the Eurovision Song Contest. Even though it was originally mentioned that the EBU approved the song, now the EBU has confirmed to the Maltese team that they cannot use the word “Kant” in the song.
Miriana already recorded her postcard in Switzerland, and is currently shooting the video clip for the winning entry of MESC 2025 – “Kant”. And even though these news came from the EBU, she remains positive. She posted the following:
We’ve just been notified that @ebu_hq has decided against using the Maltese word ‘Kant’ in our entry in the Eurovision Song Contest. While I’m shocked and disappointed, especially since we have less than a week to submit the song, I promise you this: the show will go on — Diva NOT down 💪
