Leni won the first semifinal in Slovenia!

On Sunday, the 20th of September, we knew the first finalist of the Mini EMA 2015, the national preselection in Slovenia for the Junior Eurovision 2015. And the lucky participant that evening was 11-year-old girl Leni. Let’s have a look back on what was happening on the stage yesterday.

The first to present her song S tabo (Let You Go) was 14-year-old Rebeka Satler. This is a song about youth and fun, boys and love (and this is ok for a teenage girl). Rebeka wrote the lyrics for the song and Alex Volasko composed the music. Fun fact: S tabo means With you – definitely not Let You Go! Have a listen to the song:

Janina Klenovšek was the next on the stage with a song called Sonce v ogledalu. She is 15 years old and her song is about being a teenager. It’s not easy to find your path, but then the sun shows you where you need togo, so you can enjoy the future. Janina co-wrote the lyrics along with Katarina Habe, and Rok Golob composed the music.

The last, but not the least was the youngest of the 1st semifinal participants Leni with Najlepši dan. Unlike the first two girls, Leni composed the music with the help of Aleš Klinar, and Tina Muc with Anja Rupel wrote the text of the song. In her song Leni asks a fairy if this is going to be an ordinary day or the best day. I’m not a fairy, but I believe, when you are an 11-year-old girl, every day is beautiful!

After the presentation of the all 3 songs, jury made their decision. Let’s meet closer with the jury members. Nuška Drašček and Nina Pušlar are well-known Slovenian singers and Patrik Greblo is the head of music production RTV Slovenia, as well as composer, conductor and arranger. They chose Leni out of these 3 participants. Congratulations. Leni! Good luck in the final!

This Sunday, September, 27 the 2nd semifinal will be held and the participants are Lina Kuduzović, Jaka & Maks and Tina Vinter. The final will take place on the 4th of October. Stay tuned!
