Raffaella Carrà dies at the age of 78
ESC Bubble are sad to report the news that Raffaella Carrà has died today at the age of 78.
The singer, actress, dancer and TV host had been ill for some time.
Carrà was a huge fan of Eurovision, presenting a number of Eurovision shows in Spain, aswell as having several Eurovision contestants sing on her hit Saturday night show Carràmba! Che fortuna. They included Dima Bilan, Ani Lorak, Simon Mathew and Pirates of the Sea.
Carrà performed at San Remo in 1983, aswell as hosting the show in 2001. Carrà read out the Italian points when the country came back to Eurovision in 2011. She had also been rumoured to be one of the hosts of next years Eurovision Song Contest.
Carrà had a number of hits around Europe, including Far L’Amore, which you can see below, with the English version reaching number 9 in the UK charts in 1978. Carrà also starred in the film Von Ryan’s Express alongside Frank Sinatra.
