Conchita and other familiar faces among the guest stars of “Germany 12 Points”!

This Friday, Germany will select their representative for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 through their national selection “Germany 12 Points”. Initially, the show was planned to start at 20:15 CET but due to the current situation in Ukraine, ARD will broadcast the special show “Solidarity with Ukraine” at that time and “Germany 12 Points” will begin at 21:00 CET instead.

Nevertheless, the broadcaster has invited some very interesting guest stars for the show on Friday. One of the four guest stars will be Bülent Ceylan, who is a well known comedian and has also made it to the final in The Masked Singer Germany. The other three guest stars all have a connection to the Eurovision Song Contest!

Thomas Hermanns

Thomas Hermanns is a German TV host and comedian, who hosted the German national final on several occasions in the past and he will definitely look familiar to those of you, who love to re-watch the exciting voting sequences from past contests. He announced the points from Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2009, he decided not to do it again, because he was disappointed with the low winning chances of his country at the contest. Little did he know that Lena Meyer-Landrut would actually win the competition for Germany a year later.

Jane Comerford

Jane is an Australian country singer who is best known as the frontsinger of Texas Lightning. The band actually represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 in Athens with the song “No No Never”. They finished in 14th place in the competition but the song became a huge hit anyway, reaching triple gold status in the German pop charts.

Conchita

This is the guest that obviously doesn’t need an introduction. Conchita is known for his outstanding performance of “Rise Like A Phoenix” at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen, for winning the competition as a bearded Drag Queen, for hosting the show one year later in Vienna and so much more!
