Eesti Laul 2023 artist reveal – part 2

Following last night’s announcement of the first 10 acts for Eesti Laul 2023, we are back with ETV’s magazine show “Ringvaade” to finish the line up! Eesti Laul Executive Producer Tomi Rahula was again on the show and has announced the following:

m els “So Good At What You Do”
This entry is co-written by last year’s Eesti Laul winner, Stefan Airapetjan. M Els has previously been involved in drum and bass releases, but the song also being co written by another semi finalist, Andreas Poom, doesn’t make me think she’ll stick to that genre!

Robin Juhkental “Kurbuse Matused”
34 year old Robin was lead singer with the band Malcolm Lincoln who represented Estonia in Oslo in 2010. He also participated in Eesti Laul in 2015, coming 6th with his song “Troubles”

Neon Letters & Maiko “Tokimeki”
Neon Letters were formed in 2021, their facebook reel states that even though they are ill, this hasn’t stopped them preparing the next single with Maiko – the accompanying snippet of music could be the entry? Go check out their Facebook!

Bedwetters “Monsters”
Bedwetters are a pop punk band, formed in 2004. Their wikipedia page states they stopped performing in 2013, but obviously the pull of Eesti Laul was too great! Watch their biggest hit “Dramatic Letter to Conscience” from 2007.

Anett X Fredi “You Need to Move On”
I’m thrilled that this duo have decided to enter again! Coming third in 2020, “Write About Me” was one of my favourites, with Fredi’s sublime songrwriting skills and Anett’s smokey vocals.

OLLIE “Venom”
Oliver Mazurtsak has appeared as a songwriter before, co writing Mariliis Jogeva’s 2020 entry “Unistustes” which sadly didn’t make it out of the semi finals.

Linalakk, Bonzo “Aeg”
With Bonzo being what appears to be a singer of Estonian folk music, we can maybe hazard a guess at this entry, time will tell!

MERLYN “Unicorn Vibes”
Merlyn was singer in the band Nexus and has sung in the past with Eurovision favourite Koit Toome. She has since released 2 solo albums, watch her absolute banger “Aphrodite” here!

MIA “Uks samm karraga”
MIA is the stage name of Kersti Kukk, who has achieved radio success throughout her career. She appeared on TV 3 months ago, so we can get a good idea of her range – watch here

INGER – Awaiting You”
Inger is a veteran of Eesti Laul now, finishing 6th in 2019 with “Coming Home” and 8th in 2020 with “Only Dream”. Could this be her year?

It was also announced today that there will be a special programme tomorrow to introduce the acts at Viimsi Artium, which is the venue for the semi finals which will be held on January 12th and 14th. The songs will be released on December 2nd.
