Nanne Grönvall releases English version of Carpool Karaoke

Nanne Grönvall has released an English version of her song from the 2020 Melodifestivalen ‘The Carpool Karaoke song’

The song, which talks about Nanne’s love for the Carpool Karaoke segment of James Corden’s Late Late Show has been enhanced with new English lyrics, as well as a brand new backing track. This has been accompanied by a fun music video featuring a range of eye catching illustrations, containing Nanne and her friends mooning at people as they head to Las Vegas (yes, you read that right!) 😉

Although the music video appears fun, Nanne has written about the sad inspiration behind the song, saying:

This is the English version of my tribute song, to James Corden and his TV series Carpool Karaoke, that I performed with in the swedish pre-selection for Eurovision Song Contest.

A song I wrote after my serious exhaustion collapse, in 2016, after far too much work for many years. The collapse was tough, both physically and psychologically to recover from.

All stress with hectic, fully booked schedules for decades, made my body and brain, crash like a computers hard disk drive, and lot’s of anxiety followed. The desire to sing, compose and perform was completely lost.

When I had recovered a bit and could start taking in dialogue’s, I started watching TV streaming a bit and discovered the Carpool Karaoke programs for the first time.

James and his guests made me so incredibly happy. The first episode was with Paul McCartney and then I watched episode after episode. I started feeling joy again and the passion for music was slowly returning. Something I never thought would happen.

The simplicity with the sing along music in the Carpool Karaoke shows, gave me a “back to the roots” feeling: When I kept singing continuously as a child all the way ’till I released the first vinyl record together with our 80’s band, 30 years earlier.
