All female hosts for Eurovision 2025
Hazel Brugger, Sandra Studer and Michelle Hunziker will host the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland.
Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer will host the Semi-finals on 13 May and 15 May 2025 while Michelle Hunziker will join the two ladies for the Grand Final on Saturday 17 May 2025.
Who are the hosts?
Hazel Brugger, 31, is best known for being a TV host and stand-up comedian. Although she was born in the United States, she grew up near Zurich and now lives in Germany. She will most likely bring a lot of wit and dry humour which will certainly dazzle the audience together with her passion for the contest. Brugger has previously won a German Comedy Award called ‘The Salzburg Bull’ together with a Swiss Comedy Award.
Sandra Studer, 55, represented Switzerland at the 1991 Eurovision Song Contest. Back then, she was known as Sandra Simó and secured a fifth place finish with the song ‘Canzone per te.’ Since then, she became very well known among Swiss audiences as a TV host, actress and singer. She has previously been involved at Eurovision as a spokesperson and commentator.
Michelle Hunziker, 47, grew up in Ostermindigen and is one of Switzerland’s most international personalities. She is known for TV appearances on German and Italian television most notably on the Italian Sanremo Festival. As a versatile media star in the European entertainment scene, Hunziker brings an international reputation to the Eurovision stage.
The co-executive producers of ESC, Moritz Stadler and Reto Peritz, commented on the selection of the hosting team. They explained that for the world’s biggest TV show, it was important to have hosts with more than just presenting skills. Hazel, Sandra, and Michelle bring unique versatility with additional talents such as comedy, dance, or singing.
