Il Volo win Sanremo!

After an almost 5 hours long final, the 2015 edition of Sanremo has ended. After a first round of voting, where the sixteen remaining artists have been cut down to three for the gold final, Il volo have been announced as the winner of the event.

Il volo rose to fame in 2009 after meeting in the popular kid show Ti lascio una canzone, from where many participants of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest had come. Il volo had presented the song “Grande amore” and had been formally asked by RAI to represent Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest. They have accepted this offer, and we shall see these three guys singing for Italy in Vienna this coming May.

Italy has peaked 21st last year in the final, their worst result since the implementing of the 12 points voting system, with Emma Marrone, who was one of the hostesses for this year’s Sanremo.
