The 2015 Slovenian representatives Maraaya (consisting of husband and wife Raay and Marjetka) and the runners up of this year’s edition of EMA BQL (the brothers Rok and Anej) have joined forces for their joint new single: It’s Complicated!

The duos are used to working together: Raay has co-written BQL’s first single ‘Muza’ and together with Marjetka (and thus under the name Maraaya) he has been co-composing their EMA 2017 entry ‘Heart of Gold’.

Now they have been working together once again on this single ‘It’s Complicated’ of which actually a Croatian version came out first! Under the title ‘Sjaj’ and with Croatian lyrics they have been performing the song at the CMC Vodice 2017 for the first time because the festival organisers liked the song that much.

‘It’s Complicated’ was co-written by Raay, Marjetka Vovk and Charlie Mason, who Eurovision fans also might remember for being the lyricist for Conchita Wurst’s ‘Rise Like a Phoenix’ as well as Maraaya’s own ‘Here For You’ and ‘Beauty Never Lies’ by Bojana Stamenov.
