Good evening everyone, and welcome to our live blog of the German selection for Eurovision 2019 – Unser Lied für Israel! Seven acts are going to compete in tonight’s show to become Germany’s entrant for Tel Aviv, and thus the successor of Michael Schulte.

I watched Eurovision in 1998 for the first time (by accident), and wondered what this show was where this girl with a cape sang in Croatian on Hungarian television. It's needless to say that I watch this show ever since. 2008 in Belgrade was the first Eurovision I've ever been to, and since then I've been to most of them.
My favourite Eurovision winner is "Everyway That I Can", and one of my all time favorite Eurovision songs is "Igranka".

    Wir vertreten unser Land (Deutschland) und so erwarte ich auch, dass unsere Beiträge einen deutschen Text haben. Keiner der beiden ersten Songs wird einen Platz unter den ersten 15 schaffen. Was soll das! Packt ein!
