It’s a Eurovision Knockout – Semi Finals! #escknockout

#escknockout on our official Twitter account has reached its semi finals stage. A total of six acts have qualified to this stage of the Eurovision Knockouts, and will go into ‘battles’ in order to be one of the three finalists of the 2018 season. They are FYR Macedonia, Ukraine, Israel, Belarus, Italy and Finland.

Over the last month and a half, three stages of #escknockout were held, and of the 43 entries taking part in this year’s competition, 37 have been eliminated. In the quarter-finals, six duels were formed, and the results became closer than in any of the previous rounds. Finland’s Saara Aalto was the only one to have a very comfortable victory as she got 80% of the votes against Sweden’s Benjamin Ingrosso. Netta beat Sennek with 61% of the votes, while Mélovin managed to beat Eleni Foureira with 60% of the votes. In very close runs, Eye Cue managed to score 52% of the votes against Jessica Mauboy, while Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro, as well as Alekseev won their duels with 51% of the votes against Yianna Terzi and Cesar Sampson respectively.

In the semi finals, the three duels are:

  1. Eye Cue vs Mélovin
  2. Netta vs Alekseev
  3. Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro vs Saara Aalto

The winner of each of the three duels will proceed to the final of #escknockout. In case there is a tie in any of the duels, the winner will be the one who had a higher score in the previous round.
