Supernova 2019 : Audition process completed!

The Latvian broadcaster LTV yesterday held auditions for the 33 lucky acts that had progressed to the second round of their Eurovision selection “Supernova”.

From the original number of 83 submissions received into the broadcaster, the second round saw 33 artists perform in front of a panel consisting of:

Ilze Jansone, Supernova Producer;
Artis Dvarionas, singer, songwriter, program producer at Radio SWH;
Agnese Cimuška executive director of Latvian Music Development Association / Latvian Music Export Office
DJ Rudd, head of jury, Musical director / editor of Latvian Radio 5 (pieci.lv), producer.

ESCBubble have been lucky enough to see the full gallery of official photographs (courtesy of Supernova 2019/ Lauris Vīksne) and there will be some familiar faces when the acts are revealed to the public in the very near future!

One act that has already been confirmed as taking part in the auditions, via the songwriter’s own facebook page is Monta Kimene, with the song “The Eye Of The Beholder”. Monta’s Supernova debut as a solo artist was in 2018 with her song “1000 Roses”, which sadly failed to progress from the semi-finals.

Fans also went a little bit crazy last week when Markus Riva released his collaboration with Latvia’s 2015 representative, Aminata, called “Last Dance” – would this song be included in this year’s selection? In a new twist however, Markus has today released the audio video of his song “Try” to his youtube channel, so is this his 2019 offering instead? Supernova without Markus Riva would be unthinkable!

Whilst we wait for more information to be released to the public, one thing is for sure, Supernova 2019 is GO!
