Jonida Maliqi to represent Albania

The results are out and the singer representing Albania next year will be Jonida Maliqi , singing the song Ktheju tokës which translates as ‘Restore the earth’.

The winning song was also chosen as your favourite in our readers poll.

The final of RTSH started off well, however there were a few technical issues with 2 of the songs Eranda Libohova’s “100 pyetje” and Marko Strazimiri & Imbro “Leyla” getting to be resung as the vocals couldn’t be heard by viewers at home.

Jonida is no stranger to fame, having hosted the fourth season of Dancing with the Stars Albania, and has also served as a judge on the fifth season of The Voice of Albania in 2016.

The lyrics are as follows:

You sing and weep,In the hands the tears gather,

I keep …One day she lives,

In the other dying,

How much, little hope,

Single, without identity.Return to your soil,

O man that has the heart,Return to your soil,

You know a heart awaits you.

One day she lives,In the other dying,

How much, little hope,

Single, without identity.Return to your soil,

O man that has the heart,Return to your soil

You know a heart awaits you.
