The final of Eesti Laul 2022 will be held on 12th February!

Estonian broadcaster has opened the submission for the entries which are going to compete in their national selection for Eurovision 2022 – Eesti Laul 2022. The final of it is going to take place on 12th of February, but the news about it don’t stop there.

Unlike previous years, next edition of Eesti Laul is going to have quarter-finals. The four stages of the show will consist out of the pre-audition followed by the four quarter-finals which are going to be held each Saturday between 20th November and 11th of December 2021. The two semi-final rounds are going to be organised on 3rd and 5th of February 2022 while the Grand finale of the show when Estonia is going to determine their entry for Eurovision 2022 is going to take place on 12th of February 2022. The deadline for all the authors to submit the songs is 20th of October. Up to 40 songs are going to be selected to compete in the Estonian national selection among them it will be equal number of songs performed in Estonian language and English/multilingual songs. The songs which are going to compete in the quarterfinals are going to be announced by 27th of October and five songs per quarterfinal will qualify to the semi-finals. Three qualifiers will be chosen by the audience and two by the jury.

Semi-finals will also bring us five songs which will be qualifying to the final of the selection through two rounds – in the first round the qualifiers will be decided by the jury vote and televote while the qualifiers in the second round will be decided solely by the televote. The 10 songs will be then competing in the Grand finale set up for the 12th of February and after the first round of voting the combined votes of jury and the audience will be revealing the performances which will be in the Super Final of the show while the winner will be chosen by televote. Estonia wasn’t so lucky at Eurovision 2021, after “The Lucky One” by Uku Suviste failed to qualify to the final of the show, the song ended on 13th place with 58 points.
