Here are the hosts of Vidbir 2023

With the Ukrainian national final Vidbir just days away, host broadcaster Suspilne has revealed the trio of hosts for the show! Timur Miroshnychenko, Zlata Ognevich, and Kateryna Pavlenko will come together to host Saturday’s Final!

Fans of recent editions of Eurovision will know Kateryna Pavlenko as the vocalist for the electro-folk band Go_A. Winners of Vidbir in 2020, Go_A went on to represent Ukraine at Eurovision in Rotterdam in 2021, after the 2020 Contest was canceled. Their song “Шум” (Shum, or ‘Noise’ in English) came second in the televote, and finished in fifth place overall with 364 points. Additionally, Focus Magazine ranked Kateryna 10th on their list of the Top 100 influential Ukrainian women in 2021, so she’ll be no stranger to the audience on Saturday!

Most will remember Zlata Ognevich and her song “Gravity” from Eurovision 2013 in Malmö. Having tried to represent Ukraine at their national final in 2010 and 2011, the wait was worth it as “Gravity” was a huge hit, coming in 3rd place in the Grand Final. Zlata is also a soloist of the Ensemble of Song and Dance of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, and has raised money for the Ukrainian Army.

Lastly, it should come as no surprise that Timur Miroshnychenko was chosen as host. He has hosted Vidbir on many occasions, is the Eurovision commentator in Ukrainian for Suspilne, and is known throughout the wider Eurovision fandom for hosting Eurovision the last time it was in Kiev in 2017. He’s also widely rumored to be in the running to be a host for the upcoming Eurovision in Liverpool in May.
