RTS states that the ‘leaked’ list of Pesma za Evroviziju participants is fake

Two days ago several Serbian media outlets shared the lists of participants for Pesma za Evroviziju 23. The lists included some of the artists who are familiar to the Balkan audience and Eurovision followers might know some of them too as they have already competed at the Serbian national selection for Eurovision (Beovizija and Pesma za Evroviziju 22).

However RTS stated that the list which took Serbian media by storm is fake and that they will be revealing the official full list of participants for Pesma za Evroviziju 23 on Monday, 9th of January.

That is not the list of participants of Pesma za Evroviziju 23. We can’t see a reason for anyone to do this. RTS will come out with the official list on 9th of January. This is not the first time that media have made assumptions on the names of the participants in the national election.
Duška Vučinić, Head of Press at RTS stated for Kurir

Some of the artists which were mentioned already denied that they have sent a submission for Pesma za Evroviziju. Tijana Bogićević (Serbian representative at Eurovision 2017) and Ivana Vladović (Beovizija 2019 & PzE 2022) shared on their Instagram stories while Bojana Mašković (Beovizija 2020 & PzE 2022) shared a FB post about it saying that she will be taking a break from this year’s edition of the show, and maybe that would happen in a parallel universe but she liked the title of her fake song and it makes sense.

Pesma za Evroviziju 23 is going to take place in the RTS studio in Belgrade in the same format as last year:

  • First semi-final – 1st of March
  • Second semi-final – 2nd of March
  • Grand Final – 4th of March

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, Serbia was represented by Konstrakta with “In corpore sano” who finished in 5th place in the Grand Final with 312 points, giving Serbia its best result at the competition since 2012. You can check out the performance below:
