Who would’ve thought that a 60th anniversary of Melodi Grand Prix will be marked by a voting scandal which happened after the online voting system collapsed and NRK used public jury to choose the finalists and made a decisive twist of fate for some of the acts.

The four acts which advanced were chosen by the jury consisting out of 30 people and their decision was solely based on the studio version of the song which means that the performance was not taken into consideration. So instead of the online vote as it was previously announced at the tweet by NRK. In the announcing order, the acts which qualified further were: Kristin Husøy, Ulrikke Brandstorp, Liza Vassilieva & Raylee.
For the second round of voting somehow they managed to reinstate the system and the two golden finalists were chosen based on the online public vote. Kristin Husøy and Ulrikke advanced and got a chance to perform their songs once again on the stage of Trondheim Spektrum Arena. The final 3 round of voting came after both performances and as we saw it was also an online public vote which made the decision of the winner of Melodi Grand Prix 2020

South Norway Kristin 16.756 votes, Ulrikke 19.854 votes
Center Norway: Kristin 51.176 votes, Ulrikke 21.770 votes
North Norway: Kristin 19.932 votes, Ulrikke 17.152 votes
West Norway: Kristin 37.107 votes, Ulrikke 38.906 votes
East Norway: Kristin 69.696 votes, Ulrikke 102.663 votes
Total: Kristin 194.667 votes, Ulrikke 200.345 votes
